When they saw the Spotted One

This trip has been in the planning stage since the last one week. So, when all of a sudden a spotted cat(read Cheetah) comes along and renders the place where we intended to camp a 'Entry denied till further notice' area, I am not too glad about it.

Now, untill the forest officers pluck up the courage to catch it, we cannot go anywhere near the forest.

And THAT is not likely to happen soon.

Whats worse... they aren't even sure about its current whereabouts.Another forest has become out of bounds due to this.Hence, another possible destination has to be crossed out from our places-we-can-go-to list.
I just hope we find a alternative soon because such moments when all the 'people' are back for the end-of-sem vacations and have the time to hang out(all together), are rare.
Really rare.

After all, when was the last time we all went for a trip??

Can't even remember.

Hot News

Now that I am back home for the vacations it suddenly hit me....I really missed them ...so much so that initially it was difficult for me to start my day without them...since I was so used to to seeing them early in the morning before starting any work.

Newspapers.
That is what I am talking about.

And the best section of the newspaper doesn't come in the main issue, that is dropped at our doormat. It comes packed along with Maths, English, Hindi, History and Science...and god-knows-what-else in my sibling's school bag (I am going to call the afore-mentioned sibling...Sib..).The student-edition of the TOI is the best. Simply the best .

And that is where I read this article about the folks at CBSE introducing Mandarin as a third language option in schools. The first thought that popped up in my mind was...Darn! why do they have to introduce all these things after I have left school?..But that is something I am saying now...I honestly don't think I would have taken it up if it were introduced in my time. Anyways, the reason they give is that "China is the fastest growing economy in the world so we (that is the CBSE people) thought it would be beneficial for students to learn the language as it opens up a lot of opportunities." Surprisingly, the response has been positive..there have been around 700-800 applications for 100 seats.Their main  problem is finding teachers to teach the language. But I guess this will be resolved some time soon because they can always bring in teachers from China.

Another interesting piece of news....A person from IIT Kharagpur being offered a 70 lakh package(which converts to $90,000) by Facebook...
So, the moral of the story is...Keep Facebook-ing...:)

Time for another Au revoir.

P.S: Talking about languages reminds me to tell you a singular fact about myself...though I might use French phrases at times ...but it does not mean I know French.

My Maiden Voyage

Only hope that it doesn't turn out to be 'The Titanic'.

THIS is my talking space... So 'Anything...Anytime...Anywhere' is how my posts are going to be.This is also going to be my learning cum debating space (because I do get really judgmental and argumentative at times ...which are the stimulants for debates ....won't say the only ones but they surely do fuel the fire).

Plus I think it wise( I am be wise...ahem) not to define the frequency of my posts because it would be impossible for me to write at regular intervals... AND I know that the best ideas like wild horses rarely come to me at my call.( I sound like this army person laying down the ground rules for a battalion regarding the conduct they are expected to follow...wonder if I am getting carried away with this ...Hmm..)

Anyways, moving on .. At present, I am living a new phase of my life. College is what I am referring to here (The details will soon follow in a subsequent post ). Besides other things, my life Here will be chronicled through this blog. I have already finished my first semester Here.

And what an experience it has been.

Firstly, leaving the City I have lived in for as long as I can remember, was no cakewalk. To be truthful, the very thought of living somewhere other than the City scares me at times. But, I am doing it now. Secondly, living alone(not literally though, 'alone' here means 'absence of family')....its both awesome and difficult. But I will dwell on this topic later.

My wisdom (remember I am wise..) tells me to continue in another post ..so its a bye for now.

Er..Au revoir

:D
